Create Human Factors program to address software interface for Health Care Professionals (HCP).
- Two major user groups
- No training (software must direct users)
- Alerts (must correct user missteps)
- New scientific models (user must understand results)
What We Did
- Conducted risk management activities
- Formative 1
- Formative 2
- Summative validation – incorporated Software Usability Scale (SUS) as an objective to provide standardized feedback to client on user interface
- Recruited HCPs (Madison, Phoenix, Boston, Philadelphia and Rochester)
The Results
The implemented Risk Mitigations effectively demonstrated safe use of the software tool by the two HCP user groups. SUS scores indicated a final product that met industry expectations for usability. Product scored similar to iphone.
